Barry M Chisel Cheeks Contour Kit Review…

Barry M Chisel Cheeks Contour Kit Review…

Hey everyone! It’s been a while I know, how are you all? Recently I received my Barry M Chisel Cheeks contour kit in the shade Light to Medium. I was really excited about trying this product as I had been after a drug store contouring kit for a while. These are available for a nice £6.49 out of Superdrug or Boots, so it’s not a big chunk out of your pocket.

This is actually my first Barry M product so I didn’t know what to expect at all.

Initially it became apparent that the palette was extremely well wrapped with cellophane over the pans to keep them from transferring or getting damaged. The palette was a hard sort of cardboard meaning that it wouldn’t crack and it could take a bump.

Upon opening I discovered the three colour pans and a little guide on the inside of the palette instructing me on how to use the colours. The description on the Superdrug site states that:

The travel-sized palette includes a light powder to highlight, a bronzer to warm, and a dark powder to sculpt for a perfectly enhanced appearance.

I was impressed by how dark the colours were on the palette as sometimes when you purchase a light to medium product it is way too light.

I began to apply this product once I had applied my foundation, concealer and translucent powder in fear that my cheeks would end up blotchy due to the moisture off the foundation on my face.

I used a small blusher brush to apply this intially and it worked a treat, genuinely, the brush type depends on how hard, soft or sharp you want your contour to look. I tried to follow the guide on the inside of the palette however, after doing that I looked like I was in the armed forces with a camouflage looking face.

The powder on this palette is very fine of which I loved, and the colours apply to your face rather dark meaning that they are quite pigmented and they are extremely buildable. I felt as if the light powder was pointless as it didn’t do anything for my face, so that’s the only colour I’ll probably not use. Below is a picture of my makeup, including the use of this palette.

The colour was also so easy to blend so if I made mistakes, the mistakes were so easy to conceal. I used the bronzer in the middle of this palette the most and I used the dark powder if I wanted more of a sharp, bold, dark contour. The stay power on this palette was great, also, it lasted all night and until the next morning with only a little disappearing and transferring onto my pillows.

All in all, I would DEFINITELY buy this palette again, apart from the light colour, I thought this palette is amazing and at such a good price too. It has definitely influenced me to purchase other Barry M products. In all honesty, for £6.49 you cannot go wrong.
What’s your favourite contouring kit?

Makeup Revolution Beyond Flawless Eyeshadow Palette Review…

Makeup Revolution Beyond Flawless Eyeshadow Palette Review…

Hiya everyone! I’m back after a week of not posting a review! How is everyone?
Today I am going to be reviewing Makeup Revolution’s Beyond Flawless eyeshadow palette. I have been excited about reviewing this and trying this out for weeks!

I picked up this palette from Superdrug for £6, it’s usually eight, however, if you pick up a free beauty card you get £2 off certain Makeup Revolution palettes. I originally chose this palette because the colours were mainly pinks, nudes, golds and browns with the exception of a couple of smoky colours and I think that it is a great, affordable dupe for Naked 3, except with more shades. Yay!

I was so impressed with how well it was packaged, a wrapper on the outside, the box, a wrapper on the inside and then the palette, it was better packaged than my UD palettes. Upon opening, I found a sleep black palette with rose gold writing of  which I love and on the inside, 32 attractive colours and a lovely large mirror. The colours had the name sheet on top but I think I threw that out with the other packaging. Oops

Initially, I was a little disappointed at the fact it didn’t have a brush or applicator, however, I only paid £6 so who am I to complain? I just used my Naked 2 brush for application, anyway. The only problem I had upon opening is that it had an unusual powdery smell, I can’t exactly explain it though. But it didn’t put me off.
I haven’t done a swatch (how stupid of me), but I noticed the shades were quite powdery. It was extremely easy to get the product on my brush, of which I loved.
Upon application to my eyelids, the eye shadows glided on so smoothly, I used the five colours going down starting from the left side of the palette, one of them being in the second row to create a subtle nude eye. The colours blended so easily and I was amazed at the result. They are very pigmented and also buildable for a more statement eye.

Please ignore the bad eyeliner, it had began to crack after being on about eight hours and my eyebrows are due a wax 😎
Overall, I would buy this product again. I was so impressed. The palette is easily affordable and is high quality. They are extremely versatile and easy to use, so the palette is great for beginners and pros alike. The palette with last you a long time and it gives you many options for experimenting on both days and nights. The big mirror is a great addition as you can get a good close up on your eye and scope out any mistakes.
I feel as if Makeup Revolution are really coming up as a brand and creating such a good name for themselves. I have only used two of their products so far, however, I am extremely impressed by both.

What do you think? Have you tried this palette?

New reviews!

New reviews!

Hey, everyone! How has your weekend been? Anyone bought any new/interesting makeup products? I would love to hear about them!
Although I have already apologised, I am sorry I’ve been so quiet over the past week! I’ve been crazy busy with visiting home, work and looking after my boyfriends little brothers! Yesterday we had a Rose Event in PANDORA, it was extremely busy, however it included pretty cakes, macaroons and prosecco, how can you go wrong? Below is a picture:

The cakes tasted amazing, I could’ve ate 1000 of them! Apart from my shift being a little stressful, it was a good day and on my way out of work I had the chance to enjoy some prosecco and cakes.

Anyway, I promise I will upload a review on Tuesday night! I have been dying to try a Makeup Revolution Beyond Flawless palette and I finally got my hands on one which is full of pink shades! Yay! The picture below is the palette:

The colours on the palette look amazing so I’ve been dying to try it out, I’ve just not had the time. I do apologise for the lack of posts this week.

But please keep checking my blog as over the next few weeks I have some amazing products to review, including UD’s All-Nighter setting spray, Heir and Exposed by Kylie Cosmetics, ABH Glow Palette and the Real Techniques Sculpting brushes.
Keep your eyes peeled!

Why I will be quiet…

Why I will be quiet…

Hey, everyone! I hope you all had a fabulous Bank Holiday! Did anyone do anything special?

Sadly, I’ve been in work on the Saturday and Sunday of this weekend, however, on Sunday night I travelled back to my home town Sunderland on the train (it was a fairly eventful journey which took double the time it was supposed to due to a broken rail). I was so excited to come home and put my makeup on for the nightout, also. Here is a picture of me in a Wetherspoons last night…

I had a great night, by the way. I’m the one on the right.

Anyway, today I planned to do a review on a very popular drugstore eyeshadow palette that I have recently purchased, however, I had a few too many drinks last night, stayed out a little too late (4AM) 😇 and I just could not bring myself to do the review.

I travel back to York tomorrow and for the next couple of days me and my boyfriend are looking after his little brothers. For the weekend, I agreed to pick up some extra shifts at work.
Although I plan to be extra extra busy this week, I will try my hardest to post a review as I love doing so! So this is the reason why I will be quiet over the next week!
Is there any sort of reviews you would all like to see?

Brush cleaning?!

Brush cleaning?!

Okay, so I was cleaning my brushes earlier as they were really dirty as you can see below and I was just wondering about actual cleaning techniques. I just clean mine with a simple shampoo to get the product out but I honestly don’t know if that’s the right way to do it.

So if someone asked me how to clean a brush I honestly couldn’t tell them. I could tell you how to clean your 925 Sterling Silver, your 14K Gold and even your Indian Zebu Cow Leather (PANDORA’s Leather Bracelets), but for the life of me, I couldn’t tell you how to clean a brush. I know there’s some controversy over how to clean them and what’s best… So what do you think? I always find it annoying cleaning them and I feel as though it takes ages. And I’ve tried two different brush cleaners and I’ve been pretty unimpressed, one made them greasy and the other didn’t make much of a difference but I’m not gonna name any names, yet.

The completed brush cleaning session is below…

Ooooh, look, pretty and clean brushes! 😊😊😊

(These aren’t all of my brushes, just the ones that needed their bath 😊)…
So, my questions are below…

  1. What techniques are best?
  2. What products are best to clean them?
  3. And how often do you recommend cleaning them?

If you’d be so amazing to give me a little advice on this topic I would be highly grateful!

Lip review/idea…

Lip review/idea…

Today I decided to change up my look, from the usual matte lipsticks to a glossy nude lip.

The picture above is the finished result. Sorry that the lining is a little bit messy, I have to learn to line them again every time I get lip fillers.

I used three products to create this look, these will help you get a nice plump looking lip and it’s more of and everyday look!

The three products I used were:

  1. Urban Decay’s Matte Revolution Lipstick in Stark Naked
  2. Maybelline’s Colour Drama Lipstick in Nude Perfection
  3. Soap & Glory’s XL Mother Pucker Extreme Plump Gloss in Clear

First, I made sure my lips were clean and then I carefully began to line them with the Colour Drama (you can sharpen it to get a precise line), make sure you follow your natural lip line. As this product is meant to be used as lipstick it is very soft do make sure you’re extra careful. After, I filled my lips in with the matte revolution lipstick, making sure that I applied a thick layer.

To follow on, dab your lips with some tissue to get rid of the excess product. After this, I got the mother pucker gloss out and squirted about a pea-sized amount on my finger, before massaging he product into the lipstick that was already on my lips. You will feel a slight tingle from the mother pucker as it is plumping gloss but it is nothing to worry about.

Make sure you correct any mistakes with tissue and try not to put too much product on your lips.

After following these steps, you should have a pretty, nude, plump pout!👄
